For Reasons Now Obscure

The lonely day began to pass
We all could feel the strain
Our very action flayed our nerves
And words could not explain
What brought us all to boiling point
Each others veiw disdain

Our Parents' words seem oh so harsh
'twas plain right from the start
That we could get no common ground
To love the others heart!
The more we tried the plainer 'twas
That we would have to part

We bandied words we now regret
For reasons now obscure
We racked each others past up too
With words far far from pure!
Then headed each his seperate way
But why no one is sure!

It all began as those things do
With heated words from one
then spread like fire on Benzene fumes
Sparked off by anger's gun
And scorching all who stood near by
And sparing none! Yes none!

Oh! why is temper such a curse
And why can words hurt so?
To simple questions such as these
The answer's --"I don't know"
God and the Devil can't be friends
each is the others foe

To look at life through others eyes
Can be so hard to do
How happy can a person be?
When is a person blue?
Can people realy look at life
And get the others view?

Prehaps for some it can be done
I say this not in jest
Though I for one do try so hard
Then try again my best
It all boils down to do the job
By God one must be blessed!
