Night Time Vigil

On the garden wall in the moonlight - you sit

Surveying the world you listened  - and waited

You body quite still and so quiet - so fit

Your senses alert - missing nothing - so calculated!

So quiet the night - yet you heard it - your prey!

You waited one moment - then pounced - 'twas over

With that creature you'd gloat (before eating!) - and play!

Appetite satisfied - you're back on the wall - to recover

You might cat-nap - but still stay alert - all night long

Not a sound or a movement you'll make  - all alone

With the first sign of man making movement - you're gone!

Where you know you'll be pampered and cuddled - at home!

.....ooOOoo.....
