This house in the country So tranquil and tall Is encircled by orchards And a white-washed stone wall. Listen how sweetly the birds Mid the leaves, they do sing As the breeze makes the branches So gently to swing! ‘Neath a near cloudless sky I love to weed and to hoe As next Autumn’s harvest I so lovingly sow! And it’s here I find comfort From the World’s prying eyes As I live quite contented In my own Paradise! Copyright © 2005 Cora E. Barras All rights reserved |
