my name is Cora-E Barras I live in the heart of Northern Ireland in the County of Tyrone, affectionately known as Tyrone Among The Bushes!!
I am 58 years old and happily married now for over 30 of them. We have two grown-up children. When I was about 4yrs old I remember my father making up little poems about everyday events and this fascinated me.....as I got older I too began doing the same! Here I am today and nothing on that score has changed still trying to write that one poem that might just make me rich and famous!! Some of my poems are sad; most are humorous; some thought-provoking and a few of them are just pure nonsense but I hope there is something among them all that you will find enjoyable. THE NEW MOUSE
“Is this the right house? Is this the right street?” Said the mouse to the cat When first they did meet. “Mieow” said the cat “Are you speaking to me? Are you not afraid – Why do you not flee?” “Flee?” said the mouse “Surely there’s nothing to fear, I am very important And I’m needed right here!” Well, that cat was intrigued He wished to know more So he escorted that mouse Right up to the door! In through the cat-flap Went that rodent commuter, Then up unto the desk Beside the computer! “Ah! This IS the right street, It IS the right house - The owner was right - She needs a new mouse!!!”
